[Advice]Bluetooth Heasets,Useful?!!!
Hey guys,
I'm getting myself a new iPhone 3G,and gonna learn driving soon,
So i was just wondering...Are those 99$ bluetooth headsets that Apple made worth the money,or is it just a piece of useless junk ?
If they're just junk, from your own experience which bluetooth headset would you recommend?(please add a link or something so that we could all see it,and know where to order it from)
Appreciate all people that are gonna help...
Thank you for it^^
Hope i helped...

In my own personal opinion, I worked for 2 years at T-Mobile and sold many many of bluetooth headsets in my time. The best one i have ever seen or used is the Aliph (spelling) Jawbone. These headsets are very expensive but they are the best i have ever used. Currently i do not use a bluetooth headset because i find the headphones packaged with the 3g iphone to very good. To me the ones from the 2g iphone are garbage and constantly got tangled. The ones in the 3g are fantastic and the sound quality is always crisp which cannot always be guaranteed with bluetooth headsets. I unfortunately have not tried the apple ones and sorry i do not have any links. hope i helped.

I bought Apple's bluetooth headset a month ago and IMO it is not worth the $99. Not at all. Lots of background hiss, very low volume. I think there's way better headsets out there than Apple's.

Thanks for your advice guys, but as you may know sariano83,not all bluetooth headsets work on the iPhone 3G,besides i can't use normal headsets(kinda troublesome),and if i use the phone whilst driving.
bimmerme, would you like to tell us why you think it's not worth the money?
would you like to recommend a something special?
Thanks for your posts guys...
Hope i helped...

Well,
1. Because of the quality of the sound output. You constantly hear hissing the background as I mentioned. I mean, constantly. No matter if you unpair it and then pair it up again, you reboot the phone, you reboot the headset, you always get that background noise.
2. Another problem is very low volume on the headset. When you're driving you can barely hear it with no noise in the car. You dare to open window or listen to music -- forget it.
3. I think the battery does not hold as promised in the manual (and yes, I did buy a brand new one with one full year warranty, not a refurb).
4. Too overpriced, I have a Jabra that came free with my RAZR phone (2 year ago) and it outperforms the Apple headset in sound quality and volume level. Yes, the cheapest Jabra headset out there (costs not even $10 on Ebay)
Only good thing is its sleek design (it's Apple after all).
Unfortunately, I cannot give you an advice on getting any other bluetooth headset in particular as I've used none of the other brands.

Hey XpackK,
As pals above mentioned.. every other bluetooth headset work better than iphone headsets with definitely Jawbone better in noise reduction.
Just to add.
All the third party bluetooth headsets work with iPhones. Like mine was a cheap non-branded (don't remember the brand) headset.. and it paired flawlessly. With good reception everything. Just at times when u connect it to you iphone it doesn't detect immediately, but if u press the buttons on headset a couple of times it gets detected/paired..
So save money on these & donate the rest to DevTeaM
