Default [3G][Verbose Boot] No longer in there?

For some reason, verbose boot seems to not work anymore on the 3G iPhone. If you have access to a recovery console for the 3G iPhone, or you have made one yourself, etc. then try the following:

    Code:
    ] setenv boot-args -v
    ] saveenv
    ] fsboot
It will then boot up and, because of the nature of fsboot, it would not show verbosoe boot anyway. So restart the phone, boot it up, and for some reason, it will still boot normally. Once Pwnage was available, I tried the same thing, and then SSH'd in and did an "nvram -p" and it even showed that "boot-args" had the "-v" argument there, but it just was not showing verbose boot upon boot up

Has anyone been able to do this? Am I just doing something wrong?

It doesn't work for me on the 2G with V2.0 nor on the 3G.

In the past, it was possible to redirect output also to debug_uart so running iBoot from a serial interface was possible, this doesn't work any longer, too.

Accrding to Geohot there is a change:

"Entering interactive mode is now done with a call to the kernel to raise an I/O pin before resetting."
Seems as if they changed the behaviour...

I was just talking to geohot on IRC and apparently boot-args have actually been disabled for some reason...weird...
