We did this last year with the first gen phones so users know which models had the old FW vs the new unhacked one.

I just bought 2 3G phones today, one from ATT other from Apple and one comes with 2.1 and the other is 2.2.

If I remember correctly, it's the first 4 or 5 digits that matter. Here I go!

2.1 = 85845
2.2 = 87851

I'm gonna hit up Wal Mart and Best Buy tomorrow see what they've got. If anybody know which of the above has 2.1 holla back!

You stand a better chance if you look for one week 46 4th and 5th number of serial or earlier.I picked up 2 from C*rPH*** W*a*h**** just before xmas both on 2.0.2 and usable baseband.
