In the Western USA, only Tmobile and ATT can use iPhone.

In USA 3G will not work with Tmobile, even if iPhone gets unlocked.

In USA, ATT costs $35 more per month than the plan I have with my unlocked G2 iPhone on Tmobile.

Where I live, Verizon has better coverage than Tmobile, and Tmobile has better coverage than ATT.

Hence, an iPhone on Verizon, would be superior to ATT or Tmobile.

Unless iPhone 3G can be unlocked to Verizon, I will stay with Tmobile on my iPhone 2G.

Please share any info if an unlock to Verizon becomes available.

That will never happen and reason enough to stay away from CDMA providers.

Yeah, I dont know why he posted that. It is impossible to transfer the number from the CDMA phone to the GSM phone.

I am very disappointed that such n00b statement actually came out from the same guy who unlocked BL 4.6 iphone. There is no way on earth a UMTS chip can work on a CDMA IS95/2000 network. Apart from the some similarity in the code division/spread spectrum aspect, they share nothing in common. The whole communication protocol from the Radio frequency to the core network (switches) are different. It is not as simple as tuning your PAs to 1700MHz and it will work like a radio station.

Geohot, you are better than that and we are still waiting for your cool hacks.
