I update my iphone 3G to 2.0.1 and all it is Ok.

not for me, I'm using a officially activated iphone with a pay as you go AT&T SIM, but nothing's seem changed.....

just a quick report to say I've just updated to 2.01. Took about 10 mins to download the file, then another 10-15 mins to update. All automated, and pain free.

Been using and so far so good. No keyboard lag, or bein randomly booted off Safari, and no total phone crashes, which I'd had 3 times in the last 48 hrs. Grrrrrrr.

But all good at the moment. Touch wood.

update failed for me, got error 5 which left me in recovery mode. after a full restore i obviously had to activate, so far everything seems much better. only slight lag on the keyboard and the phone app is much snappier.

the update was a rather large increase though, so what exactly was in there? so far all i found was that if you connect an unsupported accessory now your lock screen goes black with a yield sign with the writing "charging is not supported".

24 hours of the update and all OK

i tried to update, first it downloaded the 250+ MB file then it began "Backing up" my iphone...this was 7 hours ago, and its still backing up (Even with itunes 7.7.crap). Of course I am still waiting for it to finish the backing up B.S.

The first 2 hours of this i was at work and when i got home it was still backing up. I did not stop backing up since I did not want to start all over incase its going to take another 2 hours to get to wher I was. And the more time passes the more I feel i need to wait for fear of losing time already spent waiting...

Why is this happining..i read that someone had waiting 3+ hours but 7 hours and still...COMONE what the hell...

I have always spoke highly of apple products/software, you can imagine how it can get when you work with windows developers, and be one of them but still speak highly of other platforms and companies while putting down all other...the past few weeks been very hard to ignore. Such a bad job by apple on so many fronts. And with this experience its becoming unreal...

Cause we "fools" use the phone just with the official carrier. For myself that means that I use it at least 2years.
Why should I now upgrade it if the performance and everything works better then?

Because as stated we are on official contracts so there is no risk involved for us, as a newbie to this forum you should think first before writing stupid comments
