    Default 10.5.7 DFU Mode...

I updated to 10.5.7 last night and everything went smoothly and i didn't notice anything different since it is a security update more than anything else.....
except ONE major difference to iphone users specifically .....

I restored an iPhone today and for my surprise DFU mode was enabled again as it was in 10.5.5....
as everybody knows by now it was disabled in 10.5.6.....

Was it only my MacBook or is it absolutely True that Apple enabled it???

    Hi
As the Dev Team expected It was just a bug in the IOUSBFamily_kext files causing the DFU issue in 10.5.6

So if I uprade to 10.5.7 ,and then upgrade my 1.4 to 2.xx with winpwn ,I would not have the 10.5.6 problem ,right?!

    Hi
You will not have the DFU issue with 10.5.7 but you will have an issue using winpwn as it only works with windows & 2.0/2.0.1/2.0.2 firmware.

You will need to use firmware 2.2 (Not 2.2.1 because you'll end up with the 02.30 baseband that doesn't work with yellowsn0w) and then you can use Quickpwn225 or if you really want 2.2.1 firmware you'll need to create a custom 2.2.1 firmware (with the 02.30 baseband update neutered) using pwnagetool225

Hi ,I meant pwnagetool not winpwn ,so I guess with the pwnagetool I won't have the dfu issue on 10.5.7 with my 2G 1.4 ziphoned iphone?! :-)

    Hi

If you have a 2G phone you cant go wrong..

    1) Update your mac to 10.5.7 to fix the DFU issue
    2) Restore your phone with 2.2.1 firmware in iTunes
    3) Run Quickpwn to A & J

But remember that's only for 2G phones!
Only reason I'm say that is you're post is in the 3G section

Yes ,I know ,but when I saw you repplied to this thread ,I thought I might ask you straight away! ;-)
One more Q ,I already updated my mac to 5.7 ,now Do I have to restore it in iTunes first or can I go straight to using pwngetool(had some probs with quickpwn previously on my friends phone)
