Exclamation WTF?! Has anyone else seen this? VERY ODD...HELP ME

    Hi all.

I was happily using my iPhone (1.0.2, unlocked using AnySim 1.0.2), when today I couldn't type in the bottom 1/4 inch of the screen! What sucks about that is that in SMS, you need the bottom 1/4 inch to type a space bar, return or to go to numbers. Also this limits me from sending ANY messages! There are a host of other buttons/functions I cannot use/perform.

I then restored my phone back to 1.0.2 and unlocked it again. And I still have a phone that will not react to my touch on the bottom 1/4 inch of the screen!!

What the hell went wrong with this one? Do you guys have any ideas? I figure the screen went bad somehow. It was a refurb iPhone I purchased in August. Do you think I can virginize and go back to apple and say....WTF, mann?!

Any ideas would be very welcome.

    merci

Search for iphone + dead zone. Seems a lot of iPhone's have these problems after 3 to 6 months of heavy usage.

Had/have this as well, Apple seems to be easy in replacing phones, but as I'm in the Netherlands, and bought mine in Palo Alto, I'm a bit out of reach of support.

W/ mine, the whole 'qwerty' row stopped responding, in essence making ity very hard to write any comprehensive texts.

However, "fixed" it a bit by changing the touch sensitivity, so now I'm more or less capable of still using these characters, and am quite happy to get around the dead zone. Only every now and then something doesn't work, but retrying helps most often. Your milage may vary.

See http://www.modmyifone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2345 for how to enable changing your touch settings.

    Wow...this is perfect.
I'll definitely try this out...anyone else have issues with "dead zones" and any experience with talking apple into getting a new phone?
