Is it worth it ? - 1.0.2 to 1.1.1. 1.1.2 due out soon ?
i've had my iphone (well a few of them actually) for some time now. I'm one of these who risk adverse types - i.e prepared to wait until a 'one button does it all' .
Is there really a need to go from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1 ? If the answer is yes - has the process to virginise\upgrade\anysim1.1 been placed in to a single batch process yet ?
There are soo many confusing threads on this forum with far to many sticky's on each page.
I'm head roumers that the UK release of the iphone due out in weeks time comes with firmware 1.1.2? if so i'm assuming this again will have a further lockdown process built it in, again which will add another few thousand pages to the site creating thus more confusion between 1.0 - 1.1.2. The trouble is soon no-one will know where to look to find out whats good and whats not....
there is no "one button" virginize yet.. and rigth now 1.1.1 just does not bring anything very usefull.... so for now.. you are better with 1.02

As tetsu says there are no one-button virginizers yet. In fact this subject has not really been talked about by the Dev Team - so noone is sure if one is coming.
The bottom line is that if you upgrade your 1.0.2 (unlocked by the earlier AnySIM) to 1.1.1. it will not work. The current virginizer methods gets around that.
I can understand your message about 1.1.2. but the majority of threads i've read don't think this will be a major change (i know this is just fingers crossed). The main difference was going from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1. Going from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1 to 1.0.2. didn't cause any differences. Unless Apple release some new major features I think we'll be ok.
Either way you're going to need to fix the changes made from AnySim.
I finally went through the process yesterday after reading a lot of threads and created the following guide:
[GUIDE] Virginize 1.0.2 > Restore 1.1.1. > Jailbreak & Activate > Unlock 1.1.1. no PC
I believe this process is the easiest available at the moment. There are a lot of steps but it's really putting people's minds at ease by covering every step.
I was a bit apprehensive about upgrading to 1.1.1 as well. There's a lot of threads/methods out there and since I'm somewhat of a noob I was scared that I was going to mess something up if i tried. However, yesterday I found what I beleive is the easiest way out there. It worked like a charm on my first try, didn't have any issues with it. Now I'm running 1.1.1. with no problems. Here's the guide I followed, just do it step by step:
Hope this helps...
