Hi,
I have an option of getting the iPhone by the end October. So I thought that i will get it and unlock it to use it outside the us with another GSM carrier and not ATT.
I am very afraid of bricking the iPhone using one of these 20 step methods.
So I just wanted to ask if there will be an app that you can run on the iPhone and it unlocks it very fast and simple, like there was with FW 1.0.2?
If the answer to that is yes, then when it will be released? are the guys that are working on it close to releasing it?
maybe there is a very easy method for unlocking and i just dont know about it, can you recommend it to me?

i have a PPC mac with 10.4.10 on it, and a PC but it doesn't have wifi (i saw that there is a way to unlock but you need a pc with wifi on it)

Its coming. I am waiting too. I refuse to go through all that SSh/Putty crap and all. I have a functional 8GB that i use and my 4GB is the one that needs to be fixed.

I can't wait either.. I have bought an iPhone as a gift for my baby sister and would like to unlock it

there may be, who knows. The current iNdependence is pretty easy. If you can't do that the you probably should not be buying iPhones to unlock to begin with.

I though that iNdependence was not unlocking the phone to use it with other carriers?!
