Hi,

I am just wondering if there will be in not so far future (let's say before the end of 2007) an easy solution updating firmware 1.0.2 to 1.1.1. When I say easy I mean perhaps something like One-Click-Install. I am not talking about a virgin phone but a phone already unlocked with free tools as ibrick, wiNstaller and PACAY.
I could easily wait a hole year before I update mine from 1.0.2, but still I am just wondering if this is something that will be released for people with firmware 1.0.2 or if they only make solutions for the newest updates in firmware by now?

if the iphone used anything other than anySIM 1.1, you have to re-virgin. Have to clean up that baseband, otherwise 1.1.1 will brick it.

what we need is a true tool for re-virgin. Details & documenation as to what it will and will not do and in what case the re-virgin tool can be applied.

right now. it's chaos.

I am also waiting for that solution. When i had an un useable iphone before the first unlock , i felt like being a pioneer, and did it the first day, took the risk. Now that the phone works, and there are only a few advantages, i feel like waiting for a simple, stable solution. Of course donating to DEV team goes without question, i am not a free rider.

IMHO, just wait for the GUI app. I'm running 1.1.1. now and there is absolutely nothing to die for

i'm wondering if the dev team will even bother with this...there seems to be some good guides out there already....but i dont have the know-how to troubleshoot if something goes wrong. i would definitely like to upgrade as i am sure all the new apps that are coming out will only run on fw 1.1.1

Does the starbucks icon light up in 1.1.1 when you are near their wifi like on the ipod touch?

Jailbreaking and activating just became a lot easier. As far as I know, now we need to virginize, and upgrade, then use this jailbreaking - activating method, then unlock.

Hi Guys,

I did the upgrade after all, we have a 4 days holiday, so I thought why not spend it geekly

I did the revirginizing as per this:

It took me an hour, and I had one problem on the way only, so I had to restore the phone once, when I was already on 1.1.1. The revirginizing went like a dream.

p.s. forgot to say, there is really nothing what you should upgrade for, unless you need the multi keyboard if switching languages often, etc. The rest like Home button, TV out, doesnt do anything for me. For TV out you need to buy an expensive cable, as the old iPod cables wont work, etc.
