Question Will an *activated* 113 OTB work with ***SIM unlock?

    Hi guys,
I've had a look through the forums but can't find any info for my query. I'm about to buy a 1.1.3 OTB iPhone and activate it through iTunes - using the method mentioned on the forum to get it activated w/o contract.
Has anyone used this method to activate their iphone then unlock it with a SIM proxy? If so, does it work? I've heard SIM proxies don't work on 113 but is that just for jailbroken phones? If you have an officially activated (not jailbroken) iphone can you upgrade the firmware (say to 1.1.4 when it comes out) without having to wait for a jailbreak method - and will the unlock still work? Would I still need to get it jailbroken in order to use a GSM carrier in another country (I'm in Australia)? And finally would I need to still jailbreak in order to Australianise the number format or is there an official iphone app for that? My theory is that an officially activated iphone would remain unlocked with a SIM proxy even if you upgrade the firmware through itunes without waiting for a jailbreak. Any info or advice would be appreciated.

1.Bootloader has nothing to do with that. It's the baseband that restricts working with sims
    2. 1.1.3 phones will work with *SIMs only if they have 4.02.13G baseband or lower. OTB will not.
    3. Jailbreak has nothing to do with the ability of the phone to use other sims, read what jailbreak is.
    4. Officially activated phone is ACTIVATED, not UNLOCKED. Again, read what activation is and what unlock is.

You shouldn't ask a question having not enough knowledge to understand the answer

    1. If the phone is officially activated it cannot REMAIN UNLOCKED, because it's only activated, right? REMAINING means staying in the same state as I understand.
So you have to describe the situation more thoroughly for people to see what was before the firmware upgrade - active&unlocked both officially, or active officially unlocked unofficially, or active officially & officially locked etc. etc.
*SIM solution is only a solution for some particular versions and it isn't an unlock, at all. If you upgrade, you get the future firmware which probably contains the fixes for that cause apple looses money on such solutions, so no *SIM owners should rush with any update anyway, for example current 1.1.3 upgrade ruined all the *SIM solutions that were here before. I hope I answered something

by upgrade in the upper post I meant the official iTunes upgrade, not the soft-upgrade hacks posted on this forum, hacks can do anything
