Default [WiFi] Problem - Can't keep connection, iPhone reboots all the time

Hi everyone, until today I used to have my iPhone with FW 1.1.2 and BB 4.6, software unlocked by GeoHotz method.

Suddenly, without any previous modification, my WiFi started to have all the symptoms people use to have when they lost their Wifi, so, isn't something because of the Ziphone method.

I tried everything to fix it without success. Finally I decided to make a firmware update in DFU mode using iTunes and upgrading it to 1.1.4. I used Ziphone to downgrade my baseband to 3.9 and then unlock it.

Nothing changed, everything still working except for the Wi-Fi, I don't know what could be the problem, even having everything correct previous the 1.1.4 update.

Now I have 1.1.4 and BB 3.9 but with the same WIFI problem.

Another thing, when I don't deactivate the WiFi, the iPhone starts to reset all the time. Very annoying.

yea, my wifi also lose connection all the time and reboot the phone. I've tried everything...so i think it's a hardware issue.

I tend to think you are right. My gut feeling is that this is not caused by ZiPhone... I have a few people which have never run ZI and have this problem.

I have no proof though, and this is a very un-scientific conclusion & methodology.

i read in this forum that the wifi issue has something to do with the bluetooth being fried. some guy posted something about the apple genius saying apple is having problems related to the bluetooth and wifi.

from what i've read (yes going through those 80+ pages) - it seems people who downgrade their bootloader to 3.9 have the least problems experienced with ziphone.

those who keep 4.6 should just use iplus instead.

For what I read, there are two types of WiFi problems:

    1) Your WiFi works but when you try to connect to a wireless network it does, but after 5 seconds you lost the connection, and the phone starts to reset all the time. This is my case.

    2) The other type is when you read "No WiFi" in the iPhone settings and you can do nothing, I think this problem is solved installing BossPrefs from the installer.

Too many people with WiFi problems and there isn't an answer yet!

For those with greyed wifi issue I've read a couple of solutions in this forum. Normally, this situation comes with no IMEI, no BT, and others.

The unstable, constantly dropping, phone rebooting wifi appears to be the most mysterious one since it may be related to hardware issues, but could be triggered by unlocking failures (I did tried to unlock my 1.1.2 OTB iPhone several times before the first proved unlock was actually available).
As I read form people in other threads, and according to a status message published a couple of days ago on Zibree's blog, this may be the reason we have this annoying problem.
(I've come to a point where I'm fantasizing about a software solution that could make an exact duplicate of another iPhone -Baseband, Bootloader and Firmware included if possible-)

So, there are a couple of interesting questions for all of us with this unstable, unusable wifi:
    1. did you tried -and probably failed- several times to unlock your phone? what method did you use? (so we can establish a possible soft or hardware unlocking method issue)
    2. what week was your iphone manufactured? (so we can establish a possible hardware issue)
    3. do you have any idea on how this could be solved? (even the most crazy ones may enlighten us)

    Marx:

The "grey-out / no wifi" in setting is easy to solve and there's already a solution to it.

Now, ours problem with unstable wifi is probably hardware related.(unfortunately)

    to answer your question:
    (1) The only method I've ever use is Ziphone.
    (2) Mine is 1.1.2 OTB week 46.
    (3) I heard someone replaced the comm board inorder to it (not sure if he had the same problem though + it cost $150?)

1)First downgrade to 1.1.1, then I use iclarified guide and upgraded to 1.1.2. Phone worked well with simfreer. Then I upgrade via installer to 1.1.3. Phone worked well. I'm not sure did wifi problems start after or before geounlock. But my wifi worked after ziphone a couple of times, so I could install BSD subsystem etc. But now it is very unstable and phone is rebooting.

    2) 1.1.2 otb (week 48, i'm not sure) phone.

    3) no idea
