unstable wifi too.
Cannot connect to Access Point, sometimes cannot found AP.

I wish I had spare iphone to look inside the wifi, what the hell is wrong there. BTW mine ass well, when cold, works just fine...

Let's try to get those phones replaced by Apple !
I guess the problem exists without Ziphoning too, but the users who don't need to unlock may just go a an Apple Store to get it replaced, maybe that's why we don't here about them... What do you think ?

That would be a great solution Moitah, the problem is that more than 90% of the people here having this problem lives in a non Apple iPhone supported country. I read that Claro will launch the iPhone in all South America, and more european countries will have the iPhone available as well. But it will be better if some of the Dev Team or anyone with the skill find the solution.

I had a iphone with the 1.02 version and the wifi worked perfectly, after I updated to 1.1.2 version and wifi continued running fine. Now I updated to 1.1.4 version and wifi works in a limited way.

For example, I start Safari, it requests to connect wifi system and everything works perfectly for an indefinite period, but if I just return to the iPhone home the wifi connection falls. If I start installer, it requests to connect wifi system and everything works perfectly for an indefinite period too, but again if I return to the iPhone home, the wifi connection stop to work.

So, the wifi system connects perfectly, but I cannot go back to main page of the iPhone that connection falls.

Yours instability is the same?

My phone doesn't see my Airport Extreme, but I can perfectly connect on the HP routers at my school. Different problem.


The fact that the wifi icon disappears when you hit home means the network has a configuration problem.

what if I have US iphone in UK ? does the warranty extend to all supported countries, or just country of purchase?
also I'm HW unlocked, they probably wouldnt take mine back

I have exactly the same issue described. My phone (US, 1.1.4 OTB, ZiPhoned 2.6b). Worked perfectly for a month or so.. suddenly, while doing some downloads on installer, it rebooted and went into an "endless" loop untill I disabled the wifi. Since then, wifi only works when cool and for some minutes.

I was wondering if maybe the issues mentioned in this thread have anything to do:

Its related to a battery life issue, that on BL 3.9 the battery lasts less than half than on 4.6. I had the issue myself on a second phone, and it was "cured" by restoring the BL to 4.6 (ziphone had downgraded it to 3.9).

if the BL CAN affect the battery life -logic says it shouldnt, but experience shows it does- maybe it was also "overdriving" the power supplies or something like that and killing our wifi...

4.6 might support some minor component changes or things like that... and wifi lives for long.

Anybody seeing the wifi issue with a BL 3.9 OTB???

In some point I think you're right. I used to have the endless reboot loop and sometimes was incontrollable, specially with the WiFi ON.

But since I upgraded again to 4.6 BL, my phone became more stable also with the WiFi turned ON, actually my main issue now is the instability of the WiFi, of course sometimes it reboots, but is not so often like before.
