Where to Download packages that are in "Installer" for archiving?
Yesterday I purchased an iphone that was 1.1.3 OTB. I downgraded it to 1.1.1, and have successfully software unlocked it.
The only issue I have, is that if I need to turn my phone completely off (or it runs out of battery I presume), the sim unlock seems to break, and I get the dreaded "no service".
The solution I have found, is to uninstall the unlock package, as well as the sendowski.de Bricktool/signal fix, and then reinstall both of them again, and I am back in business.
Since I don't plan to turn off the phone or run out of battery very often (I never do with my touch), I don't think this will be a big inconvenience, and have not started to "chase" the problem.
Anyway, I am concerned that in the future these packages may no longer be available to the installer app, as I have no idea where these are served, and have no control over that.
So does anyone know where I could get the following files to download to my PC and archive?
The first one is found in the Tweaks (1.1.3) section:
1.1.2-1.1.3 OTB G-Unlock
The second one is in the Sendowski.de repository:
Bricktool / SignalFix
They are both version 1.
Also, Can someone tell me how I would install these offline if I had to once I obtain the files? Would I use iBrickr?
i dont think you should loose the unlock for just rebooting. i did it and ive rebooted many times since then. maybe you did something wrong, but mine was a 112otb
well in my case it did not work at all when I used the unlock on iClarified. But when I uninstalled that one and then installed the other one and used signal fix, it worked.
I tried signal fix on the iClarified too, and had the same problem.
The thing is, I am a bit reluctant to start chasing the problem, because I fear running into other issues, and making things worse.
BTW, it does stay "unlocked" because I can still use the other sim, the problem is, I don't get a signal.
