What's the best option for me?
I'd like to get an iphone but use my existing AT&T sim card which came with my AT&T 8525.
If I purchase an iphone, obviously it will be OOB or OTB (I believe stands for "out of box") so the firmware will most likely be 1.1.2, will it not?
I have read that it may be possible to use an AT&T sim with a 1.1.2 iphone using some method, but my question is, what is that method and how do I know whether or not it will work before purchasing the phone? And if this doesn't work, is there a way or place to purchase a phone with an earlier version of the firmware? Or should I just wait until 1.1.2 is cracked?
Basically I'd really like to start using an iphone with my existing AT&T sim card and I just need some advice as to what I should do, seeing as how I haven't actually purchased an iphone yet.
I have scoured the forums and I realize that there are a lot of useless questions about unlocking an OOB iphone that is 1.1.2 from the factory, as it is not yet possible. This I understand. However, I could not find detailed information on the matter of making calls and whatnot with an existing AT&T sim card on a new, OOB 1.1.2 factory iphone. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Luke
