What happend if I use the new version of anySIM without the SIM.
I don't have the SIM at hand.
This new version of anySIM is showing me this message:
Please make sure your new SIM is in your iPhone

Ill tell you what happend to another iPhone I tried to unlock: doesnt work with any sim (no, not the program AnySIM) now at all. Ill have to wait for the virgin restore solution to unlock it again.

This iphone is virgin, brand new with 1.02

So, anybody please?

I live to be corrected in life, but I don't think not having a SIM in during an unlock process would mess up the process. The actual unlock itself is not SIM-dependent -- it's just changing the state of the phone from carrier-locked to carrier-unlocked.

The SIM you want to use is important when you want to activate the phone to use your SIM after the phone has been carrier-unlocked. (And if you don't activate the specific SIM you want to use after the phone is carrier-unlocked you WILL get error messages about your SIM! This is a two-step process: carrier unlocking followed by activation!)

When I did my unlock using the-program-that-shall-not-be-named, I did not have any SIM in the phone (and if I recall the instructions said I could put my non-ATT SIM in or no SIM at all).

But after the phone was unlocked and upgraded to 1.1.1, I needed to activate the phone for my non-ATT SIM. You absolutely need to have that SIM in the phone to activate it with iASign, and probably to activate it with iNdependence, too.

(The activation process requires the ICCID number that is on the SIM you want to use, and most activation programs thus need to look at the SIM to get its ICCID number) (This ICCID number, btw, is different than the ICCID number listed on the side of your iPhone's box, since that ICCID number relates only to the ATT SIM included in your box).
