What are the benifits of upgrading 1.0.2 ?
I have 2 phones, one unlocked with IPSF the other using anysim (one mine the other my wifes). what are the benefits of updating to 1.1.2 (or was it 1.1.1) and are they woorth it?
and what is the best way to do it?
I did read around and there are many discussions about going from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 but since i have 2 dinosaurs here I am not sure what it the best way to do it and i know they will be different since one might get bricked and the IPSF I am not sure about.
Thanks

I agree that there are not alot of threads/posts regarding the benefits of SW upgrades, but they are here I read them. Try searching posts by the word "upgrade".

i pass on the first and by asking about the benefits and process for both IPSF and AnySim I am hoping to help myself and provide a tutorial for others (dont think there are many with 1.0.2s thinking of upgrading ... come to think of it i should have done this when the 1.1.1 was released but was told by a friend if its not broken why fix it

He's right (your friend).

The greatest benefit is that you can see the battery status in iTunes ;-)
And you can receive alphanummeric SMS. But for that there is a fix for 1.1.1 to install. So no really need to upgrade.
Because when did you upgrade an mobile phone the last time before your iPhones?
MacBook Pro 13"

I always updated the firmware on my Nokias and My sony P990
but then i needed to due to many bugs .. thing is i dont see any bugs yet in my phone .... some times i get a freeze and need to reboot but that is once or so a week and sometimes every 2 weeks. But problem is newer programs are being relased for newer phone (i think) so that would be one benefit.

one of the feature that 1.1.1 that I love is the ability to hit the home key twice while you're playing music (ipod mode). That will give you the ipod control. Before you have to hit home, slide the slider.
