I used ZiPhone 2.0 with the following command "ziphone -v -u -a -j" and it worked perfectly. I tried 2.2 originally but it complained that zibri.dat is the wrong version. My phone was 1.1.1 unlocked with anysim. I upgraded directly to 1.1.3, then ran ZiPhone2.0 with the -v option and all's good. Cheers.

What do you mean working? You modified Ziphone?

And will this be unaffected by backups from iTunes?

Hmm I dun understand that video. You JB and Activated first. Then you unlocked it. Lastly, you removed the SIM tray and put it back in? That's it?

OK guys. Listen. I have figured it out thanks to Crackn's advice...

    http://www.*********.com/?c0mu9cjnlxz
    (Replace the *'s with m3diafire)

Assuming you start with a 1.1.3, 04.03.13_G BB Bricked.....

    1. Enter DFU mode and restore to 1.1.3 but do NOT JB, Activate or Unlock it.
    2. Enter recovery mode and restore to 1.1.3 yet again.
    3. Use the ZiPhone GUI from the above link and Jailbreak and Activate Only.
    4. Once your iPhone restarts, connect to your WIFI
    5. Go to Installer and install BSD and OpenSSH
    6. Connect to your iPhone using WinSCP or PuTTY.
    7. Go to /private/var/mobile/Library/ and execute chown mobile:wheel WebClips
    8. Delete the damned "Z" icon.
    9. Reboot to make sure you can reboot and not hang at the Apple screen.
10.Connect to iTunes and restore backed up settings. Once you have restored
your settings, it will reboot yet again and you should get to Springboard with
    no troubles.

I admit its way too tedious just to remove a webclip icon but this seems to be the only way I can find anywhere. Let me know if this helped you.
