On your website it was mentioned.. that you would get 'baseband pinging unresponsive' message and that is normal... and you also mention saying no trouble shooting on the website.. how would one come to know that the nor file was not right... (after all everything went successful.. with no errors..)
So now I m in a state with no wi-fi and 'Repair Needed' msg pops up.. my phone doesn't get detected by usb either.. ANY HELP..
@Andrew.. thanx. you can take some sleep but do let me know if theres something that can be done..

My situation is more or less the same. I followed every step mentioned on the website (i dot unlock dot no). The corrupted NOR is currently on chip. The "Couldn't ping baseband" message was supposed to be ok and then i restored to 1.1.1. Itunes gave me a 1011 error, cannot jailbreak, independance says couldn't get baseband version. I am stuck....

I wrote this because some person told me that he got this message, but after he restored his phone to 1.1.2 it turned out that the baseband was downgraded successfully anyway.
Did you connect the testpoint and complete iunew? Or did you only complete ienew?
sspiros: Try restore to 1.1.2 first. People are reporting that restoring directly to 1.1.1 doesn't work for some reason? If restoring to 1.1.2 works, try restore to 1.0.2 and jailbreak with ibrickr or similar. Then you can transfer the files manually and repeat the procedure to fix it.
PS: Please discuss problems in this thread instead: http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=23798

Same situation here.
Can restore to older firmware but cannot jailbreak due to unresponsive iphone and I also lost the wifi connectivity (light grey menu). So I've tried to upgrade/ downgrade and just about every restore combination from 1.0.2, 1.1.1, 1.1.2 to get to a jailbroken firmware where I can try to manually upload by cable the proper programs to run this again so I can load 3.9BL.
Even when downgrading to a 1.0.2 (or 1.1.1FW) I can get to the "slide for emergency" but the keypad is unresponsive and *#307# does not work (when I could get that far).
Now all I see is the "Repair Needed, iphone cannot make or receive calls".
Unfortunately I did restart the iphone and now I think it's just a lightweight brick for now.
If anyone does come up with a solution please post up a detailed fix for these errors made.
ootb 1.1.2 w/ corrupted Bootloader = lightweight brick?

@GeeZuzz: Yes I did connect the testpoints and ran iunew.. and it went fine.. with TestWorks 55 msg... and then the bbupdater to check the response...
but now i have my BL corrupted I guess. and no wifi with computer (itunes, ibrickr, iphonebrowser) not detecting my iphone..

I also tried firmware editions 1.1.1 and 1.1.2, when i slide for emergency the keypad is unresponsive (very very slow) as well. I am hopeless...

Restoring to 1.1.1 is useless since you would need wifi to jailbreak.
What happens when you restore to 1.0x? Are you able to jailbreak with ibrickr? If keypad is unresponsive shouldn't matter too much as long as you are able to type...

No, jailbreaking with both ibrickr and appTapp do not work.
ibrickr when opened again seems like it sees the iphone as jailbroken but it obviously is not which is why I can get PXL on the phone but not get the the springboard to operate the phone. So right now I'm stuck on the fact that I cannot get to springboard due to not being able to jailbreak even though both programs seem to be doing their job and it looks like it's working but in the end is not.
