What if I have a 1.0.2 one that's been activated and jailbroken with iNdependence on Mac.
Used it for a while, with no phone function. Then I tried to install apptapp but selected the wrong version of firmware. So the installation failed and I got a yellow triangle screen. I didn't know how to fix it. So I chose to upgrade first and downgrade.
However I haven't been able to downgrade since that.
I really hope it hasn't become totally useless.
Thanks for the great post but does anyone have any thought on what I might need to do at this point to get it back to life?
Caution: NOOB question....
So, with a virgin, never unlocked 1.0.2 phone, is the best option to update to 1.1.1. and use the anySim solution. If so, why do you need to restore the phone back to 1.0.2. (as written in first post by original poster to this thread, ... see below)?
3) If you have an brand new 1.0.2 phone and haven't unlocked (and in doing so, messed up something in the baseband) then 1.1.1 should have no domain over you and you should be fine, there are free 1.1.1 sim unlocking options waiting for you. Check the other stickies on the unlocking forum thread.
4) Point 3 applies also to Phones that have been spoof activated but not sim unlocked in anyway. Just make sure you restore your phone back to 1.0.2 using iTunes before you update to 1.1.1.
Not sure whether i should leave my new, virgin phone as a 1.0.2, or update to 1.1.1.. Any help is appreciated.
My OTB 1.1.1. has been jailbroken using iNdependence, and all went well.
I've recently started installing other apps. Today I tried iFuntastic.
When I started to install iFuntastic tools, (or something named similarly), it took control of the phone, started dumping files onto it, starting and restarting the iPhone, and then displayed the "connection cord and iTunes" icons on the iphone. This sort of freaked me out, with all the apps I've installed, I've never seen this sort of activity. Usually, files get copied, you "home button" out and are back to the unlock screen on iPhone.
I yanked the cord when I saw what iFuntastic was doing. My question is: how can I put my phone back to the state it was in? If I use restore on iTunes, will I lose my unlock? What about all my data (contacts, appts, tunes) on the phone? If I do a restore, do I need to hit the option key and select a file, and if so, which file?
Thanks for your help.
