first i'd like to say thanks to everyone on this forum, i've pretty much been reading here since way back when to do OSx86 modding, and more recently iphone hacking.

and i've searched but to no avail found an answer to my somewhat unique situation.

I have the original AT&T (pre at&t / Cingular ) plan and an Iphone and I wanted to know if anyone has gotten their visual voicemail to work, I THOUGHT i read something either here or on Howardforums about it but i can no longer find the thread. (maybe i've gone blind )

anyways everything on the phone is working great thanks to everyones tutorials and the excellent information posted all abouts. this is really just a minor feature to me, but it'd be nice to have.

also, as a side and since i don't want to create another thread, has anyone noticed that the carrier name is stuck on Cingular for the original AT&T people? my gf who had cingular and upgraded to an iphone always has her carrier logo saying AT&T.

when i tried changing this in customizer, the logo remains cingular, no matter what i choose.?!! weird yes?

I dont think Visual Voicemail would work for those of us are Cingular-Blue. The Iphone only works with Cingular-Orange. I, too, a original AT&T Wireless, and the SIM card that you have is being considered as non-att SIM today.

Congrats! I am seriously considering purchasing an iPhone shortly, as I currently have an AT&T Blue plan, and do not want to lose the amazing North American Package.

Can you tell me what it is that you did to get the unlimited data? Did you call them and ask for the unlimited EDGE data for your phone?

You can do it online...I think, at least for old Cingular customers like me, when I log into my account, I can add data plans. No need to waste your time on the phone!

Which one did you choose?

I too am on the old blue charter plan, and can add Mmode for $25.00 for unlimited data.

Is this what can work here? Is there any modding besides just signing up for the service on the ATT website? Can you cancel it with no new data contract at any time?

Not sure how you could haave added EDGE from the ATT website if you have a blue sim charter plan. When I log in, it only offers Mmode unlimited for $25.00 extra per month?

Please explain how you did it and the cost setup, etc,
