Discuss virgin state, not so virgin.... at+clck="PN",0,"000000" error at the iPhone "2G" (Rev. 1) - Hackint0sh.org; Like I identified earlier in this thread, if you issue a AT+XSIMSTATE=1 and you get ...

Like I identified earlier in this thread, if you issue a AT+XSIMSTATE=1 and you get a result like this:

    +XLOCK: "PN",3,4,"PU",5,4,"PP",5,4,"PC",5,4,"PS",5,4

The number Three in "+XLOCK: "PN",3,x" is the only thing we are interested in.

Lets not get this thread confused with people simply having issues that are resolvable by EEP being reprogrammed or people that have simply not activated properly!

A Three in this position denotes the Unlock Count has been exceeded so even a good unlock attempt is now not going to work!

I do not have this problem myself, I simply helped the thread originator identify why he could not unlock on IRC last night.

If Sam could influence the dev team to patch the nor to circumvent the unlock count as well as the NCK (which has already been done), I believe this is your only solution to fix this problem!!!!!

If we can try to keep posts in this thread down to a minimum, relevant and on topic, there is more chance the posts with the important information in will be seen if a dev does take a look otherwise they get lost.

We don't want a situation where a dev drops by, see's a load of posts saying stuff like "My phone says incorrect sim" or "I'm getting error after AT+CLCK...." because they will just think its another thread where people have not done the unlock properly!

Default Help Us Keep This Thread Serious

I agree with haeleydave here, we need to get the attention of the Dev Team ASAP this is a very interesting issue, that could really solve a lot of problems in the future.

PLEASE READ ALL THE POSTS ON THIS THREAD BEFORE ADDING SOMETHING,

This is the article written by George Hotz where he talks about this problem
    http://chickenenchiladagrilledstuftburrito.info/u.htm

    To Recap:
THERE IS AN ATTEMPT LIMIT ON UNLOCKING THE IPHONE WHICH MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO UNLOCK SO FAR..... we believe this limit is as small as 3 attemps give or take.

if someone reading this is related or has any way or possibility to reach someone on the Dev Team please do it . //IM WILLING TO MAKE A GENEROUS DONATION TO THE TEAM BECAUSE IM VERY INTERESTED IN SOLVING THIS ISSUE AND HELPING THE CAUSE//

    Okay Guys the update is:

    joaquinsfy,
As a last resort decided to purchase an IPSF license.

As they spend so long refining the hack before they released it, the theory was they might has anticipated the Lock Counter issue and cover it already.

It should be noted (visible from the earlier in this thread) that, joaquinsfy has used other unlock methods before and they have worked fine, he is experienced in linux etc and the only reason for trying the IPSF method was to check if they went one step further and overrode the Lock Counter check as well as the NCK routine.

It turns out they did !

Here's hoping for an update from the Dev Team soon for the Free methods :-)

I'm hoping we just need another patched nor to add to the existing unlocks that not only bypasses the NCK routined but bypasses the Lock Counter also.

One last thing, joaquinsfy, can you please run AT+XSIMSTATE=1 again to see if the IPSF solution resets the Lock Counter or simply ignores it when unlocking.

it means your phone is in a un-unlockable state and you used all locks up to excess.

You need to be able to SSH into your phone and run minicom.

    Are you following so far?

Because there is a fair bit to explain prior to this if not :-)

    run minicom

type AT+XSIMSTATE=1 and you should get an answer for the various Facility Lock registers.

    e.g.:

    +XLOCK: "PN",3,4,"PU",5,4,"PP",5,4,"PC",5,4,"PS",5,4

The '3' after the "PN", is bad :-(
