I have just got back from the states today
and while i was there i bought myself another
iphone. im assuming its a 1.1.2 version.
i read a lot that it cant be hacked but then i
read it can be downgraded to 1.1.1 then hacked
what is correct?
and is there a good link to get the 1.1.2 working??

You can Jailbreak it an use it as an iPod Touch. Since it is a OoB 1.1.2 there is at the moment no way to unlock it. You can buy an TurboSIM to unlock it. But you must have a Mac to write the TurboSIM.

First of all, its a fucking impossibility that you have read anything. Because if you would have u would have discovered that you new iPhone can be jailbreaked but not activated in a way that you can use which SIM-card u want.

So plz continue read, as you will realize that it is all out there.
or try the cool function SEARCH, this forum along with all the others have hit.

Ease up on the harsh words. It's true the search capabilities do wonders, but just state that or don't reply at all. Maybe if people didn't reply to these ridiculous questions all the time they wouldn't keep getting posted.

i dont consider it a ridiculous question. i feel its legitimate.
my topic thread did start with an apology and i ask to be cut a little slack
i am a newbee and im finding it all very overwhelming so please understand
the questions may seem stupid to you, but to me they are a necessity
im sure you all had to star somewhere.
so how come people are offering 1.1.2 unlocks on ebay?

Those are 1.1.1 out of the box phones ..jailbreaked ..unlocked and upgraded to 1.1.2 which is possible..(NOTE - 1.1.2 out of the box can not be unlocked)

are you sure we need a mac to write..ive seen tutorials using PCs as well??

That is a lie!

You can program a turbosim on the phone itself, only need a computer (PC or Mac) to send files through SSH to the iphone.
