US IPHONE 1.1.2 Unlock QuestioN!!!!!
Hi,
I am thinking of buying an Iphone, the proble is now i will only be able to find the 1.1.2 no???
if that is the case, up to date there isn't any way to unlock it???? or can i degrade it to a 1.1.1 version if it is an original 1.1.1'??????????
another question, if i get to find a 1.1.1, or wait until a 1.1.2 version is able to unlock, would my iphone keep working "for ever" as long as i kept it from actualizing to newer versions???????????????????????? (i mean could i keep the 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 software, or can apple MAKE us actualize the software in order to function with newer versions of Itunes?????
thank you very much for your help!

You should read the many, many posts that would answer your questions. But:
1. It is unlikely that you will now find any 1.1.1 phones at any retail outlets.
2. Presently there is no unlock available for out-of-the-box 1.1.2 phones, because the new bootloader in those phones won't let you downgrade the part of the phone that you would need to perform an unlock, and also won't let you write code to this part of the phone without a digital signature from Apple. The current word is that no unlock of new 1.1.2 phones will occur until the next firmware update (maybe 1.1.3?), and even then you could only unlock the "old" 1.1.2 firmware. We don't know when this will happen.
3. If you get a phone unlocked you can turn off the "update" option in iTunes and stay at your current firmware. Apple can't force an update in you.

thank you very much!
it's good to know that if you get to unlock your phone you can at least keep using it (even though you have the con of not being able to update) in case apple got to create a software which was difficult enough to hack!
if there is nearly NO possibility of finding a 1.1.1 version Iphone i will then have to wait until the 1.1.2. version is hacked! why can't it be done until the new firmware is released?
thank you for the info!

I'm not sure why people continue to say there is no unlock....
i would indeed classify the turbo sim as an unlock method,it maybe no be a true "unlock" by definition, because it does render the phone 100% usuable with anysim... i personally prefer this way as it doesn't touch the baseband or anything like that so if you accidently upgrade to a new firmware version it won't ever brick your phone.. worst case it will render turbo sim useless.. which isn't that big of a deal.
so culocacapedopis -> i personally would say yes you can unlock it.. but you need to buy a turbosim for $74 euro and then follow the turbosim unlock method and you will be able to use the 1.1.2 phone perfectly..

yes with turbosim you can use the 1.1.2 iPhone
there is no guarantee tho that updating to newer versions will always work.. but at least you know that it will never brick/destroy your phone
