To upgrade or not to upgrade
Hi I've learned alot from these forums and would like to thank the team on all the work you have done. I have a iphone that started as a 1.0.1 and I upgraded to 1.0.2 with the old manual way. It works well right now but I started seeing apps requiring 1.1.1 in installer. I know the process is just to virginize, restore to 1.1.1 and jailbreak/unlock. I just wanted to get some feedback of how reliable this process isand is it worth the risk. Thanks.

its fairly reliable now... there are many methods out there
i think, from what youve said, you should restore to 1.1.1 and then go onto safari on go to jailbreakme.com
if you go to that website on your computer, itll tell you how to do it...

you definitely know what is involved for the upgrade but there are a few things that can go wrong; one of them is the imei 0049 problem. Currently, this is unfixable in *some* iPhones. Additionally, the jailbreak part is a bit finiky. Just wanted to let you know...post back your experience if you decide to make the leap. Cheers

Well I did it and it went relatively smoothly. I virginized the phone then put it into restore mode. After the upgrade I used Appsnap to jailbreak and activate. Lastely anysim 1.1 to unlock. Works like a dream. THe only part that was a little trouble was the split second you have to select a wifi connection. Thank you all for the information.
