Please I need an advice.

I had my iPhone still on 1.0.2, virginized it, worked perfect with the virginizer.
Then I started the Shift+Upgrade to 1.1.1
Started fine, but then I somehow had an issue with the USB connection, so it failed right in the middle.

Only way out at this moment was a restore. Did it to 1.1.1, tried a jailbreak via jailbreakme.com but it did not work, dont know if the side had an issue or my phone.
I tried iBrickr, which asked me to downgrade to 1.0.2

But the FW 1.0.2 which I downloaded of the apple page always failed in the middle of the restore giving me a failure message unable to restore.

Only restore 1.1.1 works. I guess restore to 1.1.2 would also work but does not help anyhow...

Does anybody have an idea what to do?

1. Can I restore 1.1.1 and jailbreakme.com?
2. Can I restore 1.1.1 and use carnaval?
3. Is FW 1.0.2 somewhere downloadable, and anybody an idea why restore is not working?
4. ANY OTHER WAY?

restore to fw 1.1.1 and then use carnival (which will walk you through the tiff exploit using jailbreakme.com). your baseband is ok, thats what the virginizer process was for, and thats why you were able to upgrade to fw1.1.1 without inactivating your iphone. btw, what virginizer method did you use? was it from i.unlock.no?
also, when you connect your phone to your computer, dont use the dock (its kinda fussy sometimes). please report back your results (and the steps you took) for the benefit of the community.

I used the virginizer (03.xx) fitting my baseband of i.unlock.no after installing bsd and open ssh
everything until here worked fine.

Yeah I guess the doc messed up the process as I lost the connection in the middle of the process which screwed it.
Is there any difference using the carnival software and not straight going to jailbreakme.com, as carnival asks for jailbreak.toc2rta.com ???
Or can I use jailbreakme.com with carnival?

as far as I know, there is no difference- both get appsnap installed, which will allow you to install bsd subsystem and openssh (not nec, but jic), and then anySIM 1.1 for the unlock. giver a shot and let us know.
also, the jailbreakme sites take sometime to do their thing, which I am sure you know...some suggest syncing your iphone first with itunes and then close it. i have also seen people suggest taking out the SIM card (works for some, but not all...superstition at this point).

everything went fine and I love it

after kicking it in restore with ibrickr restored 1.1.1
kicked it out with carnaval then ran jailbreakme.com
by the way I needed a simcard to do the *#307#
otherwise it wouldnt let me, just for info

then anysim1.1
oktoprep
updated the phone with itunes 7.4.3
update not restored!
afterwards got the itunes message insert correct sim...blahblah

ran the win.bat file of Sasshas instruction
anysim 1.2U in airplane mode
worked perfect and runs stable
