Update/Jailbreak to 1.1.3 with iClarified phone remained Unlocked
So i was at 1.1.2(upgraded/virignized from 1.1.1 etc..) and i used anysim 1.2u to unlock several weeks back. I was BL 3.9 and modem 4.02.13_G
I decided to use the iclarifed method to go to 1.1.3.
The process is to use the jailbreak/1.1.3 upgrade through installer. Then you need to upgrade the baseband to 4.03.13_G. The use anysim 1.1.3 to jailbreak.
Well I start step one, I use installer to jailbreak/upgrade to 1.1.3 and get a low space message (4GB version) and the dismiss to continue button. Well i cant hit the touch button during the upgrade. So, I wait and then the phone reboots 10 minutes later.
When the phone starts up, I have google maps with location stuff and can move the icons etc.. I am at 1.1.3. Here is the weird part, the phone is unlocked and my T-mobile logo pops up and I can make calls.
I did not update the baseband (still at 4.02.13_G) nor did I use anysim 1.1.3. My bootloader is 3.9_M3S2.
I am wondering if I should upgrade the baseband to 4.03.13_G or leave well enough alone?
Same thing happened to me, I don't understand...
you used the official dev team jailbreak..that was made to keep your baseband the same plus give you 1.1.3. Hence why you can make calls. For those who wanted the Locate feature to work in Google Maps, they need to use the baseband updater and then unlock with anySIM1.3. So basically your phone is supposed to keep the older baseband because the jail break method you used does not upgrade the baseband..leaving the phone unlocked..
