Default Update 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 - Please Help

I have an iPhone back on 1.1.1 and I'd like to update it to 1.1.4, preferably without loosing all of my data on the phone.

    I originally unlocked with anysim.

It is jailbroken and unlocked, running on T-Mobile.

I really don't know what to do, I hear people throw out the phrase baseband, independence says that mine is 04.01.13_G.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You.

    Thumbs up

    Sync it first.

    Windows or Mac ?

If windows then restore to 1.1.4 and use Ziphone 2.5

There is a Mac alternative as well.

When it has all finished then restore the backup from itunes.

It will put all your contacts and music back

    Just did a 1.1.2 - 1.1.3 now on 1.1.4 on O2 all OK Fantastic!!

    I have a mac.

If I do that, I will loose my SMSs, notes, etc. Is there any way to not loose all of that?

Could I just relock and jail my phone with independence, update it, and then re-unlock/re-jailbreak it?

And simply restoring a jailbroken/unlocked phone will not mess it up at all?

No dice, that part only works on windows.

Was I correct when I previously asked:

    no need for any tool!

sync your phone once to have the latest backup
    simply press "restore" in itunes
then run ZiPhone "Do it all"
then start iTunes again and it will ask if you want to restore the backup

then EVERYTHING is restored. SMS, Contacts, Notes, Weather settings... everything is part of the iTunes backup

...did this for 3 phones now from 1.1.1 to 1.1.4 using exactly these 4 steps only...
