Default unlocking/ jailbraking but which tool?

    Hi,

I am pretty much new into jailbreaking and unlocking, however I was reading a lot through this forum and now I am quite confused about the unlocking process.
First I thought Ziphone was the ultimate solution to unlock your phone but now I hear that it kind of damages you bootloader and therefore your guarantee will get invalid and furthermore you will not be able to update to any versions of the iphone (e.g. 1.5 or 2.0)
Then I read that iPlus is a better way because it doesn't damage your bootloader but I also heard that it wasn't working properly.
Third thing i heard was eZiphone which is a better version then normal ziphone...

So I am quite confused now which tool to use for unlocking a brand new iPhone and furthermore keep it open for new updates and just in case the possibility to reset it if it brakes and I want to return it at Apple.

Can anyone please help me with that???

Thanks a lot for your help!!!

    hey,
use iplus, first connect phone to pc. let itunes take you to activation screen in itunes browser. close itunes.exe and ituneshelper.exe using task manager. use iplus 1.2. it should work and if it doesn't work the first time, retry the above and it will definitely work. wish you luck.

Your new iphone will have a 4.6BL.You have 3 choices.

1)Downgrade 4.6BL to 3.9 "Original" BL by ziphone and enjoy a fully unlocked 1.1.4 with the matching baseband 04.04.05_G

2)Downgrade 4.6BL to 3.9 "Fake Blank" BL by iplus and enjoy a fully unlocked 1.1.4 with the matching Baseband 04.04.05_G

Neither ziphone nor iplus will damage your phone.Only difference is that ziphone will downgrade to 3.9 original and as of yet you cannot software upgrade it and get back to your 4.6 original BL.On the other hand iplus will downgrade to 3.9 Fake Blank which can be software upgraded to 4.6 BL if you need to.Why people(including me) like iplus better is the option that you have of software upgrading later.Thats where people think that apple might start checking BL version against serial number before honoring any warranty. So the choice is

Downgrade with ziphone-->No way yet to software upgrade later

Downgrade with iPlus-->You can software upgrade to 4.6 later.

3)Unlock your phone with ziphone and keep your 4.6BL but you will have an iphone with 1.1.4 running with baseband 04.02.13_G(Baseband for 1.1.2)

    Your call.

okay, but does iPlus guarantee me that I can always reset the phone into factory settings with the right Bootloader just in case it brakes and I have to return it?
Is there any other downside about iPlus?

iPlus has advantages over ziphone (it includes everything).
if you use ziphone you need to have wifi (for additional packages and ...)
eZiphone is just a GUI (no need to use any GUI, if you know how to handle switches from command prompt).

Click here to download iPlus 1.2

    Guarantee-------> "NO"

Tested method & process is there.People have done it and you can also do it.

The only thing that changes in the method is the man behind the gun.Thats you.

Alright then, so I think I will try to unlock tomorrow using iPlus

One more question: Should I follow this tutorial (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=760). It describes the unlock/jailbrake using iPlus 1.1 or is there a tutorial for 1.2 already?
First thing after I unpacked and connected the iPhone with the computer is to reset it via itunes and update to 1.1.4 right?

In case something goes wrong in the middle of the process, will I be able to restore everything and how do I do that?

    Thanks for your help again.
