Just wondering, I have done my research and searched through the internet, as I can remember I once saw a guide how to unlock a 1.1.2 with a PAYG sim for the carrier, e.g. US phones - A&T - UK - O2, Correct me if I am wrong, I have searched but found nothing, A link would be greatly appriciated.

Dude, if you can`t find it probably a Hoax. As of now, the people working on the unlock say 1.1.2 is not possible to unlock until the new fw comes out. The issue is Apple won´t release the new FW for the time being. Most of us are newbies or leechers who know nothing about decrypting or unlocking a phone. So, we have to sit tight and wait. Unless these people get serious competition or someone else gets involved we can do nothing. The only other option is to learn, but the learning curve is quite steep.

Seriously dude, why do u write something when u don't even know the answer, there is plenty of guides how to jailbreak and use a pay 2 go sim.

Of course. I use my otb 1.1.2 with an O2 pay2go card in scotland, the problem is that it needs to be an O2 card to work.
and if it is a german phone it needs to be T-mobile and so on.

Yes, as long as it's O2. I'm sure there are quite a few of us doing this - it's a bit of a pain having to temporarily change phone number, but at least you get a fully functioning iPhone.

I have OTB o2 iphone, I have followed the guides down to a T, so I can put pay as you o2 simcard in my iphone. I cannot get a signal, it always says 'no service'. After successfully jail breaking 1.1.2 and installing SSH I followed a guide that shows you how to change the lockdownd file, I done this and still no service. I have treid 3 differen lockdownd files with the following different permissions 0755, 0555 and 0644. None of these have worked, please can someone help I have been trying to do this for weeks now. Any advice would be appriciated

IF nobody can give possitive advice then please dont comment, also I think the permissions have to be 555 not 0555
A Guide :

Now we need to Activate the phone:

- Open WinSCP and enter the IP address of your iPhone with username "root" and password "alpine"
- In WinSCP, keep hitting the top folder in the dierctories until it brings you to the directory with the "usr" folder in it
- Open the "usr" folder and then open the libexec "folder"
- There will be a folder called "lockdownd" in there, rename it to "backuplockdownd112"
- Now, get the new lockdownd you downloaded it earlier and upload it to this folder
- Right click on the new lockdownd file and click "Properties"
- In the bottom half, make sure that all the R's and all the X's are ticked and NONE of the W's are ticked, it should say "555" underneath
- When done, exit WinSCP and restart the iPhone

If you did everything correct above then your iPhone will restart and go to the springboard, you will have Installer and SSH Icons on your desktop.

Now you need to put in a Pre-Pay O2 Sim or an O2 sim that did not come with the iPhone !

It is very easy to get the iphone operating with a PayG card. (UK O2 OTB - 1.1.2, 4.6)

What i did was restored 1.1.1 and then jailbroke the iPhone. Next, I upgraded to 1.1.2, inserted the O2 PayG sim, and it operated without issue. There was nothing else required what so ever.
