Default Unlocked with Ziphone - now worried?

I unlocked with Ziphone and all seems to be working as it should, no wi-fi connection issues etc., but I'm a bit concerned about a post that states that the MAC address is set the same for all unlocks. I assume the MAC address is the one listed under general / wi-fi, if so, mine isnt the same as the one the post mentions. Does this mean I'm OK, or should I "virginise" my phone and start over with another utility?

    Ta for the help

Well, the Mac address is hardcoded in order to prevent the fugly and dreaded greyed Wi-Fi problem. However, the problem with this is that Zoron (Zibri+moron) forgot about the fact that many people use ZiPhone and that two people with the 2 same IP address will end up in nothing but Wi-Fi not working.

My advice, Restore to Stock 1.1.4 and use Pwnage tool or iLiberty.

Cheers for the reply. My phone was version 1.1.2 (now 1.1.4 via Ziphone) can I get back to that with iTunes?

Stay on 1.1.4, there is no need to go back down to 1.1.2.

But back to your original question, yes, you can downgrade back to 1.1.2

Ok , I am trying to figure this out , and I seem to be missing something, I have 1.1.3 OTB , and i had it Ziphoned with 2.4 i think was the current version back then. The phone works perfectly fine. Later on i used ziphone 3.0 on 3 different iphones, i later checked the threads here and I saw the MAC address warning. I went back and checked the 3 phones and none of them had the same MAC address or matching the one posted in the sticky ? What am I missing ? I am not saying one tool is better than the other, but if there is a hardcoded MAC it should be the same for all the 3 phonez.
    Any advice ?

What about the bootloader version, can this be downgraded if the phone was done with Ziphone?

The mac address duplication happens if and only if you use zibri's "innovative" wifi fix. That was his "attempt to fix" ziphone-wifi problem. Stay away from that.

BL can be upgrade, downgrade & neuter using bootneuter. Search the forum for that.

Ok , gotcha and thanks. So basically, if no problem occures during unlocking you're just fine. And i see a lot of threads how this is fixable without ziphone "fix".
Maybe somebody should post a sticky about this important detail. If you are a newb the sticky that says to "stay away" is probably not clear enough. Its should say something like - "If this happens - this is how to fix it "
    Thanks for the info!

Should any one be worried if you used ziphone on your iphone?.
Well ... I think you should be concerned .
Let me recap some of the ziphone stuff if I can remember correctly.

    - when ziphone first came out, it was for 1.1.3 phone (it was a solution to Nate True 1.1.3 soft update). It allows you to DFU restore to 1.1.3 and use ziphone to jb/act/unlock. The unlock at that point (for 4.6 BL phone) was to downgrade baseband to 04.02.13_G and unlock it. That was ziphone 1.0 or something like that. syntax at that time was ziphone -a -j -u -v

    - Later on, with 2.0 and up Zibri started to get colorful by adding GUI and more options such as "downgrade BL" (-b) and "do it all" (A). I think beginning of version 2.5 (1.1.4 support) and up; that's when all hell broke loose. People started to use ziphone and let it unlock & downgrade BL from 4.6 to 3.9 (without knowing). Despite warnings from people in this forum, people continued to use ziphone carelessly.

My guess is if you use ziphone 2.5 & above, and if you let it downgrade your bootloader automatically, then you should be worried.

I don't know how & why it causes the wifi to grey out or unstable.

    What's your choice now?
    - I don't know. But for sure is you should stay away from ziphone

How do i prevent my current working phone / working wifi from going grey or unstable ?
    - I don't know.

If I'm in your shoes, i would erase my BB. DFU restore to 1.1.4. Use iplus/iliberty to JB+ACT. use bootneuter to put 4.6BL back. Use bootneuter to neuter the loader and unlock.
I'm not saying that you should do this but that's what I would do.
