Cool unlocked in 10 mins, thanks everyone!

Well i unlocked my phone in ten mins

took iphone out of box, used *3001#12345#* to check for 03.14.08_G firmware (which it was)

so i plugged it in, connected to iTunes, quit itunes and ituneshelper

    used iNdependence to activate

    installed apptapp

installed community sources, BSD subsystem, openssh

ssh'd iunlock2 (kinda like the command line version of anysim if you dont know) and lockdownd onto the phone, and then chmod +x and ran iunlock2

It gave me the "firmware patched but unlock unsuccessful" message but i ignored it and put in my T-Mobile UK SIM which worked flawlessly.

used the code *5005*86*+447987294671# to activate t-mobile UK voicemail

patched ABPhoneFormats.plist with my own to make it so when dialing out (and in contacts) you dont get stupid dashes and parenthesis.

GPRS works great. takes what, maybe 5 seconds to do a google maps search?

    Now im a happy man

I don't have a mac, but after you run iUnlock, I am pretty sure you can't connect to youtube. I would imagine that iNdepedence = iBrickr which means what they do is bypassing the activation (first step) ONLY.

    quoted from iNdependence changenotes
Sept. 13/07 - Just released version 1.2.1a (Aventinus). This new version includes the YouTube fix when activating (YouTube will now work after activation)
