Unlocked 1.1.1 doesn't keep the EDGE APN

Anyone have any advice?

I've unlocked my phone with 1.1.1 and it works fine. WiFi and EDGE work great.

My issue is that on a reboot of the iPhone it loses my APN information under Settings -> General -> Network -> EDGE ... I have to put it in again each time I reboot.

I don't reboot often, but its a hassle, any one else having this issue and is there a workaround? Does anyone know what .plist stores the APN settings? I'm guessing it might be a file permissions issue on that file, that I could fix.

I am also having the same issue since upgrading to 1.1.1, everytime I restart I lose my EDGE settings, suggestions?

I've found a few .plist files that specify the APN, I'm going to try editing those and see what difference it makes. I'll post back here tomorrow, I'm turning in for the night.

This works for me!

Ok here is the solution for the APN issue under 1.1.1 :

use Fugu or WinSCP go to /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/

backup the UnknownCarrier.plist file (just in case)
delete UnknownCarrier.plist file on your iPhone

Now you your APN settings will be kept after reboot.

does this fix ruins anything else or it just fixes this without touching other functions?

use the services app it will update the files for you no need for ssh

Everything has worked perfectly for me since deleting that file. I had services installed and that didn't fix the issue for me.

I have this problem:

I edit UnknownCarrier.plist apn entries with my local apn/password/username

Now settigns -> general -> network - EDGE show in blank, although I can connect to edge network.

If I delete the file, I lost EDGE, but Im still unable to set EDGE in Preferences...it quits when I try to edit it.

Anyone know all the .plists related to EDGE?
