Default Unlocked 1.02 and Tmobile signal issues?

So I have my phone for about a month now and things were great. it was jailbroken, unlocked with the easy GUI unlocker, I was able to install files, my own ringtones etc.
I purposely kept it at 1.02 until further work was done with the unlockers and jailbbreaks for 1.1.1 so that wasn't an issue.

Then all of a sudden last week, calls started dropping. THe other caller would sometimes go directly to voicemail. The signal would wildly fluctuate between full and none/no service. I couldn't understand what was happening. I put the sim in my treo 650 and used it without a hitch. I put it back in the iphone and within minutes it didn't work as well.

I wanted to take it in to Apple but of course with the unlock, they would say it is a software issue. So now with the new virginizer software I was able to reset the phone to original state and then upgrade to 1.1.1 firmware. I then used an ATT go phone sim to use the phone and I have not had any signal issues as far as I can tell all evening.

Tomorrow I was supposed to go into apple to have them look at it.

My question is : Was this the unlock software that affected the signal? Did anyone else have similar issues? Should I get the phone exchanged and will they do it since there doesn't seem to be a signal issue currently?
    any help is appreciated.

i posted this exact thread yesterday, same crap, i was worried but after i relocked and then unlocked using the same method it worked again, i was a 1.02 and still am, and i am on Tmobile, i think it was a network issue or maybe, but i have not put the case on it and havent experience too many problems, but for 2 days it was hell.

    now its okay and good.

    Default Same issue here...

How did you guys solved ? What virginizer ? the one that is on the front page and is not by the dev phone team ?

If so, did you follow the procedure with a windows computer as it says ?

My signal is WILDLY fluctuating between no signal and full signal... and when I switch the sim card to a second iPhone I have beside me... it works beautifully. FULL SIGNAL.

Many people are experiencing this, so if you could shade some light on this would be greatly appreciated !

this begins to look more n more like t mobile network problem. their data network was down (see howards forum). The chances of 1.02 good, working iphones on T mobile network all crapping out around the same time..well unless there is an inherent bomb in our iphones, it should be a network thing. Can the OP please test the new, working phone with the T mobile sim and see if the issue still there? You don't have to do anything, just swap the sim cards should do. That should pretty much eliminate a iPhone issue, methinks. (Of course, that's what I want to hear.)

    Thumbs up

yeah i totally think it was a network issue for me but this started on tuesday, and what i did was this:

I have a 1.02 FW iphone that i unlocked using PACAY, ibrickr, etc..
so i relocked it using by restoring it from the dock, so i connected it to my dock and of course not even itunes detected so i restored it on the dock and that did the trick then opened up itunes and restored it because it asked me to, i then used the SHIFT button to choose what FW i wanted to put on my iphone, and i chose the 1.02 and then restored it to factory, so back to 1.02 clean- relocked and unable to do anything except emergency calls. Then i proceeded to unlock my phone as i did the first time using the same methods. this worked flawlessly and i had my iphone unlocked and with tmobile once again. well that was perfect until thursday when exactly on the same timeframe it crapped out on me here and there, i was pissed so i just soft-reset it and then took it out of my case i have for it and disowned it, showing no respect for it and neglecting it. soon enough it started working again towards the later night, and ever since that i havent used my case and its been beautiful so its probably a network issue with tmobile on a certain batch of sim cards perhaps. not sure. but now i am happy and waiting for a unlock to tmobile for 1.1 after updating, so 1.02 to 1.1 to unlock to tmobile..

    cheers.

Will swap the sims tomo. Right now the phone is 1.1.1 in fully locked state so that I can take it into the apple store. Maybe they will give me a new replacement :p .

Yeah its kind of funny that all of us with tmobile had problems with the phone right around the same time.

For Making the phone virgin again I used the procedure listed on the front of this unlocking boards. The procedure that makes use of IPSF, but spoofs the server. A little diffficult to follow since it had so many steps, but I needed it virginized so that I could upgrade to 1.1.1 without bricking it. 6 hours on and the ATT signal has remained solid.
