Unlock tutorials and one question regarding anySIM
Hi there.
Many tutorials are really very good but they always lack very important information like this for example: There was this guy who had problems unlocking, cause he didn't know he was supposed to activate his iphone with the "un-pinned" SIM of his intended provider and not the original AT&T Sim. And, it's true, this information is not stated in any of all tutorials i have read by now.
May i ask the tutorial authors - and i highly appreciate everybody's work here - to add such information to the various unlocking guides around?
This leads to another question, which i am not sure off:
As by today (personally i am waiting for an 1.1.1 solution) is the current anySIM solution good for changing the SIM as often as i wish or is it only working with the SIM used for activation.
Thanks a lot again for your work and for answering my question. And pls excuse my probably bad english syntax.

I used anySim 1.0.2 and I have tried three different Sim cards in my phone. They all worked. I used a tutorial I found off Youtube.

I have unlocked yesterday with anySIM 1.0.2 using the original AT&T sim and then switched to my real italian sim. Now it's all working 100%.
I have also replaced the lockdownd file so now I can really use "anysim" I want.

There is no need to mention this in the guides. Why? Becaus it's logical you activate your phone with the sim you are going to use.
Having the sim pin lock disabled, i agree on that part. Becaus when activating, the pin lock may give trouble reading the ICCID. Just for unlocking, the pin won't harm.
Regarding your anysim question. Anysim will only unlock the sim lock on your phone, this is different then activating. When you change your sim, you need to activate it again (not unlock). If you did'nt change the lockdown file you will need to activate when you change to another sim.

For users with a solid technical background in phone hacking this might be logical. But i don't want to argue about that.
Many tutorials give the impression of being foolproof or "for dummies" ("out of the box" - "step by step", each and every screen photographed) . One really shouldn't forget essential information then.
This is a very complicated topic for the most, many tutorials, many opinions on a very sensous matter (you are in risk bricking your phone) - it's hard getting a solid overview. For an absolute beginner it's even hard to figure out whether to install a particular software on your mac or on the iphone.
I definetely agree to the point, that every hack is provided for free and one should know it's limits ... but ... after all. We want an unlocked iphone
so please if you can think of an essential information: add it to your tutorial.
