    Default Unlock AT&T?

I'm really wanting to utilize the mms feature that's been brought to light with swirlymms, but after getting at&t to reactivate mms, it only takes about a week or so for it to disable again due to the fact that the sim card is an IPHONE sim card.

    Here's my question:

What is the con's, if any, in dropping my iphone plan and going back to regular unlimited media plan I had with them before and then just running the DO IT ALL from ziphone on my iphone, then putting my regular sim back into the iphone? I'm really sick of the fact that two or three of the simplest things offered on most phones, aren't offered on the iphone.

Any help would be appreciated, however please respond only if you know the answer, not if you think you know the answer..> :-)

There is no such thing as an iPhone SIM, only AT&T SIMs. Something is wrong with thier system. Ask them why MMS stops working (maybe its your iPhone plan.) Ask them if they can add MMS to an iPhone plan. (Probably not.)

If you drop the iPhone plan, you'll lose visual voicemail.

I know that in the UK, O2 who are the official carriers will refuse to activate MMS on the SIM that comes with your iPhone, their reason being that Apple's iPhone does not provide MMS functionality and until it does..... well you can guess the rest.

I'm surprised that AT&T are even willing to activate it on your SIM, it may be a constant battle between two departments at AT&T, in which case... keep going dude, fight the good fight!!
    Peace,

Thanks for you input but in talking with the AT&T service techs, the issue is that teh particular number on my sim card is matched with the iphone plan....so, everytime their system does an update, it sees that I have the iphone plan, and de-activates the mms feature.

I simply need to know that if I change back to the non-iphone plan and sim, then unlock using ziphone, will this cause me any issues using the at&t sim in the unlocked phone. The visual voice mail thing is not a big issue with me, its cool and all, but not more important than mms and other stuff that the iphone can't do.

Is visual voicemail the only con???

    Thanks!

When I first called about the mms feature, the person acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. I had a friend who called just after I did, and the person he talked to activated his mms. Now, he told them that he, like I do, also use a razr phone and needed the mms feature for the times we use the razr. I called back the next day, talked to someone totally different and he activated it right away with no problem. I had it working for a little over a week and then lost it. When I called them back to find out why I didn't have it anymore, he looked into it further and finally said that because of the sim being registered to an iphone plan, the system during updates sees this, and automatically de-activates the mms functionality.

I can do without the visual voice mail, just wanted to know if there was any other con's in doing this.

    Thanks M8!

    Chris
