[Unlock] Recommended Software Solutions
Hi! I've around the scene for a while.
I have unlocked my iPhones with AnySim.
I unlocked some iPhones with ZiPhone for some friends,
however, I'm buying another one, but now, there are
a lot of software unlock procedures.
Basically, I haven't seen any troubles with ZiPhone,
however there are other options such as iNdependence, iPlus and some
others. Which one do you recommend?
Thanks, JSN1

If used incorrectly, the refurbish option in Ziphone can cause no wifi/imei. This is what happened to me
Iplus was a bit sketch when it told me it installed the installer, when in fact it did not, but I found out on iclarified this is a common glitch with the program.
So i simply did this : Opened the latest version of Ziphone, Hit refurbish, then after the process was complete (the first time i did it, it gave me an error. On the second try, it worked!) restored to 1.1.4, and unlocked w iplus international. Hope this helps! Good luck lol If you encounter any problems, check back here!

I continue to use iPlus2.0b and after 5 phones in the last 2 weeks, and with 3 more next week I see no need to change

First off welcome , you have come in the game at a very good time as jailbreaking/unlocking are very easy too do. Let's get in to it shall we. First open the box, admire it , repeat admeration of the the phone. Connect it to your Pc, no messing with iTunes first as you must unlock it. Download a program called iplus2.0b. Remove the sim card and put in the one that you want to use, also ignore the phone if it says wrong sim blah blah blah. Run iplus wait till is done and enjoy new iPhone. Also make sure everything is working properly. Read iplus sticky for more info or go to iclaified.com and search iplus

Thanks for your fast response. My new iPhone is arriving today or tomorrow.
I haven't used iPlus, but it looks it is the prefered software.
What is the difference between ZiPhone and iPlus?, I don't remeber well, but I read somewhere that iPlus payload was based on ZiPhone's.
Thanks again!

The short story is: ZiPhone makes a change to your phone that you cannot undo. So if you discover a (hardware) problem with your phone one day after you received it, and you have used ZiPhone, and you go back to the store, they can in principle see that you've hacked it and could refuse warranty service.
The even shorter story is: use iPlus, it's fully reversible.

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.
Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
* on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
* on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

thank you very much )law(
, it really makes me happy that there is an active community of iphone fans here in Hackintosh.
ill do exactly every thing you said.
just to clarify some things:
when i connect my phone, do i need to turn it on first or make it go to the DFU mode first?
do i have to install itunes first on my pc? and disconnect my internet connection?
thank you!

iPlus installs a lot of stuff I don't need. Such as BSD, terminal...
Do you know how to make a basic international unlock, just appsupport and other needed things, not even Installer.
