    Default Unlock gone sour..

Ok, this one here is really annoying me.

A mate had an unlocked 1.1.1 - then by accident he updated it to 1.1.2. Normally this is no problem, but I'm not sure about what tools he has used to try to unlock it again. The IMEI number is totally missing. I tried to follow one of the guides in here, but when I try to restore a 1.0.2 firmware iTunes fails. "The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored, An unknown error occured (1)". I tried installing iTunes 7.3 - same result. The firmware I'm trying to restore is called: "iPhone1,1_1.0.2_1C28_Restore.ipsw"

So what does a wise guy now?

Download ibrickr and follow the instructions for downgrading to 1.0.2

you might have to try a few times and use ibrickr to boot the screen from restore mode to the waiting for activation screen.

Getting the error from iTunes is suppose to happen. Just use the SEARCH button and find some guides on how to update to 1.1.1 and virginze and downgrade the baseband and all that good stuff!
