Unlock Already activated iPhone..

Hi i am new to the form. Someone ma have asked this Question before but i couldn't find the ans.. so here I am asking again... Sorry..

I have an 8Gb iPhone which has been activated with AT&T... recently i moved to Canada.. the iPhone has v1.0. & modem firmware - 03.14.08_G ....... the phone is already activated with AT&T now that i am in Canada everything works Except for the phone.. I would like to unlock it so i can use it with my Rogers account.

Since all the posts for unlocking are for phones that have never been activated... iam wondering what exactly do i need to do..?????

I would really appreciate if someone could push me in the right direction..

All you gotta do is visit http://jailbreakme.com through Safari and install AppSnap. Once that's done, the installer icon will apear on your springboard. Go the installer, install AnySim, and follow the simple steps. I beleive your phone will reset, then just pop in a Rogers or Fido card (or any card for that matter, but since you're in Canada) and you'll be good to go dude.

Just curious... Do i need to upgrade to V1.1.1 before i install appsnap???

Yea I'd reccomend upgrading to 1.1.1, and then once you have jailbroken 1.1.1 with the method above, also install "oktoprep" from installer, and then you will be safe to upgrade to version 1.1.2. So in the end you should have a fully unlocked, jailbroken and activated iPhone with firmware 1.1.2.

HELP.. i tried to unlock my iphone.. i upgraded to V1.1.1 i was able to dial in & add the url's & get into the Prefs & changed the auto lock option to V=Never & made sure i am able to connect to my wi-fi network.. When i go back to the dialer & dial 0 i get "call failed" error....

what can i do??? plz help...

its all good.. i restored the phone AGAIN for the 3rd time..

and it worked this time...

Though i must say for some odd reason my phone acted a bit diff during the setup relative to the steps provided For example the phone recognized my Sim card and connected me to Rogers Even before i installed & ran AnySIM... & when i did run AnySim it failed...

overall i had a few glitches but everything is working now...

I just got from a friend an already activated iphone, he was using it with at&T in the states. I am in Italy and I want to use it with italian sim card.
I already unlocked new OTB iphones but this time I follow the instructions here but it doesnt work. I tried with ziphone 3 but it freeze when i click on jailbreak and unlock. The iphone screen remains stuck to the connect to itunes. So I connect to itunes and restore it and go back to how my friend sent it, with AT&T.

I also tried with the pwnage tool but when i alt option click restore to get the right firmaware it returns and error restoring.

What should I do?

Never use ZiPhone, read the stickies!!!
Make sure to have itunes 8 running on your Mac/PC. Connect the iPhone, iTunes will discover an iphone in restore/recovery mode. Just hit restore. This should bring you to Apple firmware 2.1.
check then here for Pwnage (Win or Mac) to jailbreak/activate and unlock the iPhone for use with your Italian carrier.
