Unknown error(1) while downgrade to 1.0.2 with new iPhone
Hi,
today two new iphones arrived me and i wanted to downgrade them as i did it the last time.
I putted them into the dock and started independence, entering the dfu mode.
At this point independence stopped working(tried with both phones)
But independence putted the phones into the dfu mode.
I started iTunes and hold Option Key to select 1.0.2 firmware.
And then i get the error "unknown error(1).....".
I also tried this at my windows PC with an older itunes version. same problem.
Any ideas?
I need to downgrade the phones to activate via independence.
I did not tried to jailbreak the phones via jailbreakme.com
But it did the same steps two days ago with a new iphone. Independence also said that the phone has firmware 1.1.1.
Could there be something newer on the phones, which arrived me today?
Thanks for your help

What Method did you use?
I folled all of the steps and i always get the unknown error.
No chance to downgrade....
The described steps are the same as in the independence help files...

I used method B, I'm running win XP sp2.
first time It didn't work because I close iTunes before running step 7. just keep iTunes running, just ignore iTunes but don't close it when you are in restore progress.. even when there are some error notifications come up..
you'll also have an error when running AppTap for the first time, but succeed on second try. and yes, i also using stopwatch..
else, I use iTunes 7.4 and zoneAlarm to stop iTunes connect to the internet and allow iTunes helper to access the trusted zone.. but I think you can just switch off your internet connection..
succeed in about 17 minutes..
