Lazy people maqke an effort and spend time reading the whole thread if you are interested. People are making this thread longer than it should be by asking the same again and again.
Look at page 14 http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthre...=11833&page=14
See if you can find your answer!!

First PC was XP, second Vista.
Really, really thanks for helping me so fast.
BTW, what does DFU stand for (nothing important, just fun to know).
And, can I use this jailbreak-method again, or is it to late?

1. you dont connect your phone to PC with cable? only with wifi? if connected with cable, could you add when (if there is parts where you must not be connected with cable).
2. do you have SIM card in the phone whole time?
3. theres no info that you should kill ituneshelper from taskbar, could you add that?
you asked the same twice!!
1.You do connect the iphone to the PC with cable. That is how Touchfree see it.There is no need to unplug the iphone during the whole process (also for activating with iasign you need the cable).
2. Yes. It has been reported that it doesn't matter which SIM card you use.
3. I think I remember when you run TouchFree it tells you so!! (Maybe the new alpha doesn't say). But people you should read the readme for TouchFree.
I think fallenczar is adding more confusion to the guide. If you can make WinSCP work you can make putty to work.
Maybe fallencar method is easier or better but I think it adds more confusion to people who are already lost.
Also he said he did it because he couldn't use killall. Well it is mentioned on the guide how to install that command.
I followed the guide and it worked fine for me.
Also there is no need for any HTML beauty. What part is that for, anyway?

maybe someone with networking skillz can answer this. Can I just setup my spare router on without the internet connection to use for this process? To use WinSCP and Putty to connect? Or does it require a internet connection? Thought it will assign a IP regardless.

hey mate,
my intentions were not to confuse anyone...but the fact is that no matter what i did i could not run the killall command...(and i know i am not the only one)
in addition following my method you do not need to run iAsign (and i am not sure bout if the web version of iAsign is reporting things correctly, but if i run it it tells me that my phone is "Factory Activated" and i can swap sim cards)

as soon as your iphone connects to the router it is given an ip..
just make sure that your comp and iphone are on the same wireless network

I have a new problem
I get the 1604-error when I do the recovery. I do have the latest FW (1.1.1), so it isn't necessery to update the FW. But iTunes want to do that (in fact, it is the only option, except for 'cancel'). Do you know what I'm supposed to do (I run with AT&T SIM right now, if it matters)
This is using the Vista.
Anyway, thanks for helping this far.

You dont need an internet connection to use putty or WinSCP. You need a LAN connection.
If you have all the programs needed downloaded I can't see the need for internet.
Now a general idea: Why do people ask before trying? Try it and then if it doesn't work ask for help. I can see sometimes you need to ask before trying. But in some cases, like this, there is no risk in trying.

when you put your iphone in the dfu mode and connect it to your comp it will promt you to restore, press and hold shift and then click restore this will let you choose the file to restore with choose your 1.1.1 firmware file and restore
