if you upload the patched lockdown you will get to home screen of the iphone but you wont be allowed to "acces" the unlock, what you have to do is ssh into your iphone and activate it using iASign method with the same instructions as it was done when we frist upgraded to 1.1.1 you can find this intructions at Dev Team Wiki

I have a att sim which works with the iphone as soon as its activated without itunes, so if I dont unlock the chip usually works with all older firmwares, since i guess our phone is being activated with this older lockdownd it is not able to access the sim or something

no our phone is activated with the same iASign method not the patched lockdownd and remember that the unlocked phone with the iASign method on 1.1.2 recognizes correctly the ATT sim and lets you dial numbers on keypad, what not happens to other carriers sims, what i know from a baseband log is that the phone know makes an extra check to see if the SIM is from ATT or OFFICIAL EUROPEAN CARRIERS, even though it let you unlock the phone it wont let you dial trough the keypad from the phone, but if you acces a contact it will let you dial that number, so its like a 50/50 unlock since we CAN make and recieved Calls but we CANT DIAL NUMBERS DIRECTLY FROM PHONE KEYPAD

Problem with jailbreak 1.1.2
Hello,
I do all the steps. I installed OktoPrep, updated to 1.1.2, but when I start the windows.bat file I get this error:
Connecting to iPod/iPhone...
This utility can only be used if you have already run OktoPrep before updating t
o 1.1.2.

REMEMBER THIS IS ONLY IF YOU RUN ANYSIM 1.2 ON 1.0.2 FW WITH 1.1.2 PHONE BASEBAND (4.02.13_G).
-IF you have and activated and unlocked phone on FW 1.1.2 it wont let you dial numbers from keypad! ALTOUGH it WILL let you dial from your saved contacts
Finally 10 pages later!!!
Thanks a million for clearing that one!
