Default Is UK unlocking possible at all?

I've been looking around the threads here to find an answer but I can't seem to find a proper answer. Can the UK iPhones be unlocked in any way? I have seen a few posts where they have by downgrading, jailbreaking 1.1.1, and then re-upgrading to 1.1.2 and replacing with a modified lockdownd. Can anyone confirm it works (preferably with a T-Mobile UK SIM)? I have already jailbroken after downgrading to 1.1.1 but want some advice before I try a possible unlock.

Note: Sorry if the answer is already in this forum but I keep hearing different answers.

No offense mate but you really HAVNT searched very well.

The answer is no, you cannot unlock the UK iPhone as of yet because it has a different bootloader, your best bet for now is to downgrade to 1.1.1, jailbreak, run oktoprep, update back to 1.1.2, jailbreak and activate it and the leave it like that for the time being.

Al least then as soon as a new anySIM is available for 1.1.2 with the new bootloader, you will be ready for it.

Thanks for your reply. Its just that all these threads are confusing me because they say the opposite of each other. I'll do what you suggested. Thanks again.

According to this thread it is now possible to unlock to use any O2 sim. I have not tried it yet though:

Goddamnit people. There is currently no unlock for iPhones with pre-installed 1.1.2. 1.1.2 comes not only with a new baseband (which is not really a problem), but also with a new bootloader (which is the problem). Downgrading the baseband doesn't help because the bootloader remains the same, hence the problem persists.

When the dev team puts out an unlock it will be posted as a sticky and on the wiki.

You can't even downgrade the baseband with the new bootloader... (so far...)

Well it must do in some way, considering I have activated it and i am not tied to one of O2's special iPhones Contracts, I got my own O2 Contract Sim Card in and also have been able to use Pay As You Go O2 Sim Card too.
