UK Firmware unlocking
Hi,
I suspect others have realised this, but in a few weeks UK iPhones are going to start appearing locked to the O2 network with a UK oriented firmware (already rumoured to be 1.1.2). This obviously excites us UK users who are forever having problems with international number formats, US spelling in the dictionary and not receiving some text messages.
The UK firmware will (you'd hope) fix all of this, but will obviously not work without an activated O2 simcard.
Are there members of the dev-team who will start working on a jail-break/unlock for the UK version? I would love to do it but I seriously wouldn't have a clue where to start!
Here is a the holy-grail question though: Do you think the UK iPhone will be hardware identical? So will us pioneers who have US iPhones will eventually be able to restore to UK firmware?

already confirmed that they use the same hardware (i think anyway)
