I'm on Vodafone so, like many many others, still eagerly awaiting the illusive unloock. As a temporary measure, I'm thinking of going for an O2 Pay As You Go SIM just so I can use the damn phone. Have many others on here gone down that route? Is it reccomended and/or easy enough to do? I've activated and downgraded to 1.1.1, where I've left it for the time being.

hi, can someone link me to the guide to unlock the UK iphone with 1.1.2 firmware, i'd like to use an o2 sim. does the guide have screenshots and stuff as i've never used an iphone yet, just bought 1.

Ah, cool. What are the next steps after downgrade and jailbreaK? You have a link to any of the guides? I know for a fact I've seen one on here but I can't find it for the life of me.

Does this solution work with ANY O2 Simcard (like o2 germany, netherlands) or only with O2 Simcards from the UK?

As far as I know, the solution works with the 'respective carrier' - so therefore O2 in UK, and whoever has the contract with Apple for Germany (T-Mobile?) and Netherlands (???)

O2 UK only.

I own that O2 UK iPhone and not able to use T-Mobile Germany SIM-Cards. Tomorrow I will try with already activated T-Mobile iPhone Contract SIM. Has this to do with the patched lockdownd File, which is optimized for O2 UK Cards?

I always get "unauthorized SIM card" if I insert T-Mobile Prepaid SIM Card (Germanys default Provider)
