omg please stop posting if u dont know what ur talking about ACTIVATING IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN JAILBREAKING.....and yes u can totally activate without jailbreaking but u cant jailbreak without activating or u can but u wont be able to do anything since ull be stuck at "slide for emergency"

activate means to have access to the springboard which u can do the legit way thru the at&t or the ziphone way and then u have the option to jailbreak whic means to have installer and to allow ur iphone to install 3rd party apps from either installer or some other source
