And you know what? It was written in this thread!
Is there any way you can help me how to activate this phone? I have the OTB 1.1.2 and downgraded to 1.1.1. It's jailbroken but not activated. Thanks in advance

The Phone ROM that was updated when you went to 1.1.2 will not work with 1.1.1. If there is something to do to rectify this, I am not aware of it.
Your next course of action at this point is to probably go to 1.1.2 and stay there.

You could read the forums more. Since the answer I just gave you was here multiple times, maybe there's even more good information. You just never know...

For a 100% chance to kick out of DFU in 1.1.1, I found that after unlocking using anySIM 1.2 in 1.0.2, (dont go straight to 1.1.1) - go back to 1.1.2, then drop back to 1.1.1 and you can use ibrickr 0.91 or use iPhuc (1. cmd setenv auto-boot true, 2. cmd saveenv, 3. cmd fsboot) and you will then be able to kick it out and into the activation screen.
Try this
Thank you very much. I will try that...

I had some of the same problems as everyone else did:
-Could not get out of DFU mode using Windows
-AT&T stop working after I downgraded
Here is a easy guide for downgrading to 1.1.1

Do you have an AT&T account? Because if you don't than you can't unlock the iPhone
Also, if you have a jailbroken iPhone then it should also be activated.
If you are currently at the activation screen and want to activate it then follow these easy steps:

1.1.2 is fine but it seemed that my third party apps weren't very stable so I decided to downgrade to 1.1.1

I know this topic is covered in detail in multiple places but not in exactly the same way as my problem presents itself (or at least how I perceive the problem.)
I was just given a neighbors iPhone to assist them in unlocking. This iPhone was originally loaded with v1.0.2 firmware. The neighbor then updated it to v1.1.1 and then to v1.1.2 using iTunes.
This iPhone has never been locked or jailbroken and has always been on AT&T. The neighbor nows wants to unlock the iPhone and move to another carrier.
To make that happen do I;
Just restore the firmware back to v1.0.2 and then directly upgrade it to v1.1.1 to then unlock and activate it using the 'automated' (TIFF exploit) method.
Or do I need to do something special first like downgrade the Baseband and then downgrade the firmware to unlock and activate.
As always any and all help is greatly appreciated.
