As I said, Apple didn't change the IMEI to anyone.
I have seen many 3g broadband cards and even if it's completely different hardware, if there are problems with the NVRAM, the imei is changed to the TEST IMIEI (wich is the one many people got).

If you take it in there, with your original ATT sim installed and tell them it's a goPhone account, they will fix/replace it for you.

THIS WORKS AT APPLE STORES, as they cannot check goPhone status. Apparently, the update has been breaking gophone sims as well as unlocked phones.

SURE ENOUGH after your posting so publicly they will take note of the hole and they will stop accepting replacement if you tell them it is a gophone!
YOu could PM it to that guy to keep it quite no?

I found the apple store employees to be very helpfull, I had ruined my baseband trying to hardware unlock but he phone was still usable as an iPod. Then one day it just whent into restore mode endlessly ( which I think was good for me) I asked at an apple store in Toronto and they offered to send it in for me. I decided to take it to buffallo though incase they could do more or just give me a new one.
in the end the guys at the buffallo store were really great and even though you could totally tell it had been opened they did all they could. They did have to send it in and 3 days later is was back, ended up they just gave me a new unit. Just never admit to anything other than just using it with att. I even gave them the phone with an att sim in it when I got it back the guy put it in for me and it didn't pick up signal so he rebooted it and put it down. I quickly just snatched it upand was like "oh look at that got signal now yay" LOL

I can beleive now that maybe they are more aware of all the hacking now but if you just play dumb they really can't prove you did anything. Too many legitimate users now seem to have issues as well.

The GoPhone excuse doesn't fly as of Thursday afternoon here in NY.

I went in with my phone and that story and they said too bad how sad. In fact they insisted that there was no issues with phones on th GoPhone plan. The phone has been tampered with nothing we can do have a nice day.

I went to the Apple Store in Cambridge Galleria, MA. I asked when was the latest shipment. Got an answer quickly. They still have week 38 iPhones. When i asked the guy if i could look at the serial before i buy it, he knew instalntly that i was gonna try and unlock it. But he was a good guy and he looked for me. Then, I went to the one at North Shore Mall. Stupid fat woman was like I don't know if I can tell you the the shipment date. And then I was like, can i look at the serial number before I buy it? Managers response: Why do you need to look at the serial number? LOL freaking idiots. Then, my dad was like LOL and actually asked if I can unlock it. .......... They said the new firmware wipes it out. We'll see about that. They have week 38 phones here too. Get them quick.
