I did every step in the world & every method in the world, But i still get a wrong IMEI, I did 4 phone for my friends and the all worked using every GUIDE so far.
So my question is it's there a way i could get this phone back to normal, i try doing VIRGINIZED, ETC, But it's still giving me trouble. I still get Incorrect SIm With a IMEI #00 499901.........
I'll verginized this phone like 15 times already, It can't get any more virgin than this. Have anybody had a perminant Brick? I think i have one.

Please help me, I need my iPhone back.........

im in the same problem as you, i had an unlocked iphone 1.0.2 with anysim, i wanted the 1.1.1 so i followed the steps of sassha's tutorial old one that used the IPSF trick and the new one with BIGBOSS utilitieshttp://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12237

it failed, my phone changed the IMEI to 0049..., and got the "Incorrect SIM error" always, i then followed many tutorials to get from 1.1.1 to 1.0.2, all work smoothly until i use anysim, 3 times i used anysim 1.1 with unlock successfull and 2 anysim 1.0.2 with cant unlock ur iphone, check... with minicom.

Whats minicom? and what can i do??, im stuck here, i need my phone badly

then i found this thread about a way to restore my IMEI, followed the tutorial step by step, all worked smoothly and well, then BANG!!!, when i use the anysim 1.0.2 as it says, i get the same message "cant unlock, check... with minicom" and my iphone has the same 0049... IMEI.

IS THERE A WAY TO FIX MY IPHONE??, I FOLLOWED AS MANY TUTORIALS AS I CAN FIND.

    ok.... i followed the notes.

    1. i sucessfully downgraded to 1.0.2

    2. i downgraded the baseband to 3.14

    3. when i try to unlock with anysim 1.1 i get "unlocked" but upon inserting a sim i get the BAD imei...

NOTES: Imei only gets to 0049 when i insert an illegal sim, *#06# gets the good imei before i insert the sim... same command gets the bad imei after i insert the sim... no reboot... in the same session... AND with the downgraded 3.14 baseband as per instructions.

    any other thoughts?

P.S. i could no find anysim 1.0.2 in any repository

I was very excited to see the guide from hacktheiphone. But, alas, it did not resurrect my phone (well, a friend of mine's).

I followed each and every step--which, btw, is not at all different from other "ultimate" guides to virginizing--and of course I still get the same results that you get. If anySIM 1.1 is used, the result is successful; anySIM 1.0.2 returns the "failed to unlock...use minicom to check the baseband". I did use minicom to check the baseband, but that did not yield any favorable result.

(minicom is an early method of accessing and "molesting" the baseband if you are wondering.)

I have read in another thread on this forum that the reason the phone is still messed up is because of the screwed up baseband (aka the seczone). Who knows, someone from the dev team will come up with a miraculous fix one day.

Until then, I share your frustration in trying to revive the phone.

I got the same prob with one of the phone I unlock. The prob is at virginizer. It unable to virginize the seczone.. The only method works is using IPFS + fake server to virgize the seczone.

Do you remember if your phone's IMEI was already set to 0049...? My phone already had the generic IMEI when I tried the IPFS + fake server method, and that did not repair/restore the natural IMEI.

Not being able to run an arbitrary SIM may be caused by:
    - corrupted seczone
    - corrupt baseband
    - wrong lockdown file
    - wrong combination of modified baseband, seczone, lockdown

I can only suggest to work systematically

    1. The first step is to make sure that you are running a virgin 3.14.08 firmware.

use ieraser2 (use search to find guide) to delete the current baseband and restore 3.14.08 baseband.

    2. Secondly, virginize seczone with elite team virginizer tools.

After this your IMEI should be ok with ATT SIM (check with *#06# dial)

    3. To be clean, restore with itunes to 1.0.2. then upgrade to 1.1.1 and then jailbreak with CARNAVAL. Finally unlock with anysim 1.1.1

If your seczone is seriously hosed and the above doesnt work then you can only use IPSF unlock or you try to run 3.14.08 bb firmware unlocked by anysim 1.0.2
