I have a jailbroken iPhone 2g running iOS 3.1.3

Is there a way I could run audio from from apps like tunein radio in the background or/and when the screen is locked as I can do in devices running iOS 4+?

I'm assuming this would require persistent wifi for the audio to continue playing in locked screen. Would it be possible or is that impossible with the hardware present in iPhone 2g?

There are some old hacks to make apps go in background and have sort of multitasking. The problem is the 2G isn't the strongest of it's kind and will have problems with lot of soft of these days running in background.

All I want to do is to be able to lock the screen & still hear the audio from my tunein radio app.

I guess that won't be possible if persistent wifi/GPRS is not present in iPhone 2g running iOS 3.1.3!!
